Explicit content advice for seafarers

Be careful what you have on your phone

We know how important it is to have access to the internet to communicate with friends and family. We also know that there are people who will abuse these forms of communication, using it to send out explicit, sexual or even illegal images.

If you receive any such content, even if you didn’t ask for it, YOU MUST REPORT IT

Tell HR, a senior officer or the head of security. Sending and possessing files of child pornography and sexual abuse are serious crimes in most countries. If you have sexual, explicit or illegal images in your possession or on your devices then you are responsible for them. In the worst situation, you could be accused and even face time in prison.

If someone sends you something suspicious, report it immediately or you could be part of the crime.
