About us

Norwegian Seafarers' Union (NSU) is a trade union for seafarers in the cruise industry, fisheries, cargo ships around the world. Our aim is to improve working conditions for seafarers across the shipping industry. We are affiliated to the International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF).

We have been assisting seafarers since 1910.

Today we support seafarers of all nationalities. Our aim is to improve the working conditions of the seafarers we represent.

From cruise ships to fishing vessels, from cabin attendant to chief engineer, we provide support to seafarers and aim to improve working conditions across the shipping industry.

We negotiate agreements, deal with personal cases, campaign on key issues and carry out ship visits and inspections. We are affiliated to the ITF and use our membership to campaign for better international protections for seafarers.

This site is in English and is aimed at our international seafarers.
