NSU is operating a center for crew members in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The center opened its doors back back in April 2003 and has had an ever increasing number of visitors since. The center offers services to crew members such as free internet and phones, newspapers, a library, recreational areas including an amazing roof terrace overlooking the historic Old San Juan.
The center has current information about collective bargaining agreements for vessels covered by the NSU and can help you with general union information and where to turn if you have a problem or question.
SHSJ is striving to be a "home away from home" for sefarers in San Juan, therefore they celebrate events such as Fathers and Mothers day and other popular holidays. Other important events are International Womens day and International AIDS day aimed at promoting awareness amongst seafarers.
